About Jitter
Jitter is a browser-based motion design tool: keyframe animations, effects and transitions in an interface a non-specialist can drive. It covers animated videos, presentations and graphics, and the premise is that most motion work in a product or marketing team is straightforward and should not require an industry-standard compositing suite to produce.
We track it and list it as the option for teams who need short brand animations regularly and have no motion designer. It suits exactly the work that otherwise dies in a backlog: an animated logo, a feature explainer, a looping social asset. We do not use it daily — most of our motion output ends up as code — but for a design team it is the right shape of tool.
After Effects is still the answer for compositing, complex rigs and anything genuinely difficult. Rive is the pick when the animation ships inside a product and has to respond to state. Figma will cover simple interface motion if that is all you need and you are already there. Canva handles the same territory more crudely, alongside everything else. Motion is the comparison if you would rather an agent took the first pass. Jitter is right when a small team needs to ship decent motion repeatedly; it is the wrong call for long-form editing or VFX.
