Google Whisk

Whisk is an experimental Google Labs tool that swaps text prompts for image prompts. You drop in one image for the subject, another for the scene, and a third for the style, and it remixes them into something new using Google's generative models. The interesting part is the input method: you show it what you mean rather than describing it and hoping the words land.

We track it as an exploration tool, not a production one. We list it for the early stage of visual direction, where showing a reference is faster and more accurate than describing it. Being a Labs experiment, its availability and behaviour can change without notice, which is why it stays tracked rather than depended on.

Midjourney has the higher aesthetic ceiling and its own strong handling of style references. Adobe Firefly is the one to pick when commercial-use terms and integration with the rest of Adobe matter more than raw output quality. Ideogram is better when the image has to contain readable text. Krea covers fast iterative generation with more control. Whisk is worth using for quick moodboarding by example. It is the wrong choice for production assets that need precise control, consistency across a set, or clear rights — read the terms carefully before any experimental tool's output goes near client work.
